Individual Therapy

My approach to psychotherapy and counseling is collaborative, strengths-based and humanistic. My intention is to assist clients in working through difficult life experiences, shift negative beliefs about themselves, and to build on their inner strengths.

Clients often assume that therapy means identifying the cause or diagnosis of problems.  Therapists that are “strength based” focus equally or more on identifying client strengths, resilience, and history of recovering successfully from difficulties. Therapy can help illuminate, access, and build on these strengths through the safety and connection of the therapeutic relationship.

I believe there is no one-size-fits-all therapy. Grounded within a foundation of compassion and safety, our sessions may also include the following therapeutic interventions:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy)

  • Mindfulness Practice

  • Somatic Therapy

  • Parts Work or Ego State Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy

  • Therapeutic Yoga
